Draft Order Revealed
Thanks to a lucky flip of a coin, the Allentown All-Nighters have secured the first draft pick in the upcoming inaugural draft. Due to the serpentine draft format, their second selection will not occur until the 32nd pick, but GM Jeff Grim is very pleased. "We've got a fairly good idea who the number one selection will be," Jeff remarked, "but I have a ton of work to do to prepare for the rest of the draft, and I know all of the other teams do as well."
There has been plenty of speculation as to who Allentown will go with at number one, and much of that discussion centers around two second basemen, Howard 'Matador' Greenberg and Mauro Santos. Outfielders Mike Corbett and Fletcher Cash are other possible batter choices, with names like Chad Wyche, Weldon 'Carny' Connelly and Xavier Martinez bandied about as the top starting pitchers. This reporter's guess, however, is that the first pick will be a hitter.
Welcome To The Grim Fictional LeagueFather and son baseball fanatics Jeff and Chris Grim are eager to get the league started. They are each taking one team in the Northern League and one team in the Southern League. They find themselves in different divisions in each league, competing against three computer-run teams within each division. Both Jeff and Chris are eager for the inaugural draft to begin, so they can put on display their ability to put together a dynasty. |
